After studying NZCE (Mechanical) at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), I went on to work in various manufacturing industries to eventually settle on working in the elevator industry. This experience provided myself with a good balance of office based work, site surveys and meeting people. Intermittently I would take breaks and experience working life in different industries such as the solar power industry which again provided a good balance between office and site. Eventually returning back to the elevator sector, the decision was made to go contracting with a home based office which I found to be a more efficient set up to execute this type of work. The experience gained in these fields, communicating with architects, structural engineers and consultants by providing draughting services to meet their requirements now allows my services to be available to a wider market.
